It has been a decade since Malaysia last hosted the International Rubber Conference i.e. IRC2008. The Plastics & Rubber Institute Malaysia (PRIM), which was evolved from the former PRIM, U.K and later merged with other professional bodies forming the current IOM3, is privileged to organise the coming IRC 2018 under the auspices of the International Rubber Conference Organization (IRCO). IRCO is an association of rubber societies worldwide which plan the calendar for the main international rubber conferences. PRIM exists to promote and enhance the practice of polymer science and technology through educational and related programs to fulfill the professional needs of both individual and industrial members. For almost 60 years PRIM has supported the rise of the Malaysian rubber industry to international importance.
IRC 2018 will be held in conjunction with the 9th International Rubber Glove Conference & Exhibition, which is a must visit bi-annual event for the medical care, oral dental, food handling, laboratories and other industrial handling users. “Transforming Technology; Driving Innovation’ is the common theme for both events to be held at the renowned Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre on September 4th to 6th, 2018.
The forthcoming IRC 2018 along with the 9th IRGCE will provide an excellent platform for rubber scientists, technologists, academicians and industrialists to share knowledge while exchanging idea, technology and latest research findings. We expect at least 250 papers and posters to be presented covering keys topics including Novelty in rubber; Environmental/Green Technology & Sustainability; Tyres, Automotive, Gloves etc.
We therefore look forward to your participation at both the conferences and exhibitions of these two major international events in 2018.
